The Aya earrings are an elegant original Mabel Brempong design handcrafted in sterling silver with 18K solid Gold vermeil to be worn for many generations to come. 

AYA comes from the Akan Tribe in Ghana as part of the Adinkra Symbols and is the word for "fern" to describe the hardy plant admired for its ability to grow in difficult places. The fern is expressed as the beautifully earthy and organic form that dangles in this piece.

The shape that dips the earlobe in gold are wings inspired by the majestic East-African Crane bird as they take flight with strength and grace, seeking adventure. These details represent wishes of growth, authenticity, renewed life, and hope for the future as we learn and move through every season of life we are granted to live.
