MABEL BREMPONG BRIDAL & BESPOKE
STEP 1: The Virtual Consultation
We are delighted to be able to offer virtual personalized consultations for our new brides.
The process begins with a one-to-one discussion via a phone or video conference with a member of the Mabel Brempong team. During this consultation, we will establish any details you already know about your wedding day or special occasion. This will enable us to understand more about your personal style, your vision and all of the ideas for your dress.
You will be invited to share any images you may have, whether of your venue or of specific styles that have caught your eye- it could be a shape, fabric, embroidery, or neckline that you are drawn to. You can share with us your mood boards, Pinterest pins, scrapbooks, and all ideas/images you’ve been putting together to help us design your dream dress.
Consultations are complimentary.
STEP 2: The Virtual Design Process
After your first virtual consultation the Mabel Brempong designers will design two to three dresses drawing from all the details of the initial conversation. A more in-depth video consultation can be arranged during which you will be talked through the details involved in each design.
STEP 3: The Fitting
Once you have chosen decided on the final design, you will be guided through getting detailed measurements of your body so our team in Ghana can begin construction of the structure of your dress (a Calico Toile).
Fitting of Toile
Your design would be made as a Calico toile for you to try on. You will be invited to our studio in Accra, Ghana, for your fitting of the toile or mock up dress.
Actual Dress Fittings
To ensure perfect fit and finalize finishing touches several fittings will take place. Each of these would be scheduled with you ahead of time.
For Our International Brides
The Toile will be mailed to you at your given address. You will wear it, record and send in all corrections needed, if any.
For our brides unable to visit our studio in Ghana for the final fittings, the finished dress will be made using the final measurements from the toile fitting. All international dresses would be sent to you with enough time for alterations, should there be any needed.
At this stage swatches of your fabrics and embellishments would be ready for your review and approval. These can also be sent via mail for clients who request it.
STEP 4: THE TIMELINE
All dresses are hand made and can take from three to six months to complete. With shipping time and alterations, we recommend starting the process nine to twelve months prior to your wedding date. We do offer rush options for weddings under six months with a 20% surcharge.
Each Mabel Brempong bespoke dress is meticulously hand crafted in Ghana by our dedicated small team of dressmakers to ensure the process is simple and fun for you. Our goal is to make you look and feel like the most beautiful bride, in a dress that’s also named after you. We look forward to your call.
